The patient | Sunhwa & Seunghwan

Wendy bit down on her lower lip as she moved out of the practice room at the company. She hadn’t been practising all that long, but she needed to get out. Her head was pounding, a hand was pressed against the wall to lead her towards the door and as soon as she made her way out, she slid down onto the floor, pinning her head between her knees.

Focussing on nothing but her breathing, she tried calming herself back down. She had been struggling with her health for a while, but she had managed to hide it. Nothing would’ve stopped her from her debut. But promotions were coming to an end, her condition was doing anything but getting better - and just simple medication didn’t help anymore either, which was a problem for the young idol - so she decided to give in, spilling her health problems to their manager when he walked by to check on the group.

It didn’t take long before Wendy was placed in the back of a car, body tense, forehead damp with cold sweat, while clutching a plastic bag just in case she were to get nauseous due to the car’s movements. The car was speeding through the streets, a manager already on the phone to make sure they were aware of Wendy’s visit. Only when he hung up the phone, he mentioned they’d make sure to only get the best of doctors to care for Wendy’s health, given the fact they couldn’t have her drop out, no matter whether it was near the end of the promotions or not. Wendy was aware of that. She had enough experience with the idol life - although most of it was what other had told her about it - to know how set the companies were on having their bands do well. She should be glad they even took the time to take her to a doctor in the first place.

She was lead to a special waiting area, left with only a notice that a doctor would arrive shortly for the planned examination. And honestly, she was grateful for that. Due to the rush job of getting her to the hospital, she didn’t get the time to at least hide the blue tips of her hair and in this way, there’d be less of a chance of her having to put up with fans wanting her autograph, pictures with her, or anything of the sort. She had doubts that she’d even be able to write down her own name, given that everything seemed to be moving around her.

She had only just rested her head on her manager’s shoulder when a nurse walked in to lead her to the examination room. Her steps were somewhat heavy as she walked, trying to keep pace with the woman leading her around. She told her manager to keep out of the examination room before entering, not wanting to have to deal with his whining on top of the doctor’s visit. She wasn’t fond of doctors, had never been. She only hoped the visit wouldn’t be as bad as she expected it to be. She just wanted to feel healthy again.

Wendy sat down on a chair before the - still empty - desk, arms wrapped around her waist was she left her head lowered, nibbling on her lower lip as she waited for the yelling of her manager to indicate the doctor’s approach.
